I posted a few weeks ago about directing my first show this fall (Importance of Being Earnest).  I got a lot of great advice and thought I'd share how it is going.

Last night was opening night, and it was awesome. We had set out around 60 seats, but had to add 22 more and put a sold out sign on the door. The crowd was great and we got lots of laughs. Tonight is the last night and I can only hope it goes as well tonight!

Algernon almost forgot to finish off the cucumber sandwiches before Lady Bracknell entered...so he ended up slyly stuffing about 3 in his mouth just as she was about to ask for them, and the crowd loved it.

I plan to take some more tonight from my seat at the tech table.

Wow, good for you! That's a great feeling, isn't it?

Only shows I've directed that sold out were ones with 600 kids in them - all the grandparents pretty much guaranteed a sellout.

OK, 600 is an exaggeration, but it sure felt like that.

How wonderful!  I hope this makes you want to direct again!
