It's from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat.  Any input as to what it means. Have had all kinds of opinions. What's yours?

I?m not sure about the lyrics from ?JTCDC? or in what context it is sung?
But for my cents worth;- It is a saying  here for an any  act of futility - Like attempting to sweep up leaves in a wind storm! Or total exasperation of an action,  usually stated as "Well stone the flaming crows" &/or "You may as well try and  stone the crows - for all the good it will do!"
I hope this helps?
