As an out-of-town director doing my first show at a community theater with a policy of "find your own techies," I am having difficulty finding people. Where can I find techies in Yellow Springs, Ohio and the surrounding area?

There are alwas a lot of techies around - get a playbill from a recent play and get a phone book - I can't believe that the venue does not help - they know who they want to operate their equipment.

I have found that some techies won't work for unless ou have a track record. I have had good luck with newer techies and soem high school kids - not so much for the design but as operators. It is particularly if you have any high school kids in your cast they can help get techies.

Stage Managers are a different issue - wouldn't start a play without a good SM.
