Boy, I really appreciate all this help. I'm starting to get my feet wet with practices and all sorts of this stuff. I followed many of your suggestions - I've always got a pencil behind one ear, a pen behind the other, and highlighters, permanent markers, and tape (everyone needs a little tape sometimes) in my pockets. Also, I have acquired a nickname, though I'm not sure if it's a good or bad nickname: Satan. I'm the Satanic Stage Manager. (Figures..) High school kids sure are a handful. (I'm not really Satanic, they just think it's cute.) I know most all of the songs and about half of the lines.

What I did that the director loved.. When I made a photocopy (gasp) of the prompt book, i highlighted the main characters NAMES in different colors. Whenever there was a PAUL, it was highlighted green. LILI - pink, JACQUOT - yellow, ROSALIE - purple, and MARCO is blue. Now, whenever I'm looking for a scene with Rosalie and Marco, I just find the pink and purple page. Very creative- and very helpful!

Anyway, I'm doing well. And I'll still be checking up on everyone. Thanks again!..

Hi again Kelly Lynne,

I’m not surprised by your nickname. Anyone who has any authority at all is often looked upon as being the “devil’s child.” (Try directing sometime - LOL.) I am called many things when I stage-manage, some can’t be repeated in “polite company.” You are doing very well. Enjoy your job and your authority. You are well on your way to being a fine theatre craftsperson! Keep up the good work and let us know how things are going for you in theatre from time to time.

Fiat Lux!
