Did you ever find the rights to Rope? I looked some time ago and was told by Sam French that the rights were only available in Britain. You'd have to call them over there, i really can't remember if it was Dramatist or Sam French, but at least ya know ya need to be searching overseas. The rights are not available in the U.S. Hope this helps you out.

There is a British theatre site called "Amdram" (amateur drama) that has a very active message board...you might post something there, maybe someone even has a copy they would send you. I have found some good advice and interesting information there. Who knows? Good luck.

As I’m sure you have found by now, Rope is not listed in any of the “Big Houses” catalogs. In searching Play Scripts.com http://www.playscripts.com/findaplay/findaplayresults.php3?titleinput=rope&authorinput=&isfilled=1&firstpage=1&x=19&y=10
I have found that French IS listed as its agent. However, it does NOT appear in either the US French catalog, http://www.samuelfrench.com/
Or the French London catalog http://www.samuelfrench-london.co.uk/ .
There are, however, several theater sites that show that it is being done or has recently been done stateside.

Perhaps you could contact one of these groups to find out who they made their arrangements through.

Hi. I am currently performing in the show at the Masquers Playhouse in Point Richmond, CA. Samuel French has the rights and they will give them to you, the only problem is that they don't have any scripts available. You might be able to order the scripts from Samuel French in London, or perhaps another local drama book store might be able to help. If all else fails and you still would like the script, email me and I will scan my script into my computer and email it to you. Best of luck.

Best,

Don
