I am trying to track down a copy of the play Here We Are by Dorothy Parker. I have managed to find the short story, but not the actual script. Its not listed with any of the major publishers, and I am at a loss. Any suggestions?

I was looking for exactly the same thing a few months ago and found exactly what you did. But recently, I have found an anthology which has "Here We Are" in script form...it is published in "24 Favorite One-Act Plays" Edited by Bennett Cerf and VAn H. Cartmell. Published in 1958 by Doubleday, and in 1963 by Dolphin Books. Maybe you can find it at Amazon books. But the truth is that the script is exactly like the short story and you could just use that. Good luck.

Could either of you let me know what you did about gaining rights or paying royalties for the show? Who do I contact/pay?

We never did produce the play and I haven't found copies of it anywhere else, so I really can't say what to do about royalties. The copy that I found was quite old and had no information about producing it anyway. Maybe someone else here has a suggestion.

I was part of an evening of one acts a few years ago, and the play was done. The group contacted SOMEONE about royalties, tho I don't know who, and they never got back to us. So we did it anyway. If they didn't want to respond, we figured they didn't want our money very badly.
