Hi Folks,

Need your advice. Has anyone done ANNE OF GREEN GABLES the play NOT the musical? I went to Samuel French and there are so many adaptations I didn't know which to pick.

Anyone have a favorite? Did you do the show? Did it have a good response?
 Thank you :)

Our theatre company did the Joseph Robinette adaptation last year and it was hugely successful. It was quite entertaining and plenty of roles to go around for kids (teens) which means lots of family to buy tickets!

Thank you so much. That was the one I was thinking.

Erika,

I took a little too much time away from this forum and missed this post. We have done Anne of Green Gables - The Musical by Donald Harron twice. This is the classic musical version of the show and is the version produced each year in Charlottetown PEI. I know you did not want to do the musical, but I though would throw it out anyway. Also a very good script is Anne of Avonlea, which is an adaptation of the second book. I think it is a stronger script than any of the straight shows from the first book.

This musical is a standard book musical with room for any number of kids, and some good parts for adults. In fact, we will producing it for the third time during our 2014-15 season.
