The notice for an upcoming audition states that a one-minute monologue is optional.  Would you recommend performing a monologue at the audition?

I would always suggest performing a monologue. It shows you take your hobby seriously; and it's a chance to act on stage - even if only for a few minutes at the audition. Given that you will go on more auditions than you will play roles, enjoy them!

Absolutely. You'll be one step up on anyone who doesn't.

Another YES vote. Just do it.
