I just posted a new video on using a scrim to make people/objects appear and disappear using scrims. I'm hoping it helps people out. I'm also hoping my friends from Community Theater Green Room will view it and 'like' it. Just in 12 hours it has 27 views! Its my first video ever.

( or search for YTChameleonScrimRevealEffectwSound )

And I'd also like to ask people in this forum whether they'd like to see more. I'm planning one on front and rear projection on scrim as well as one on silhouette & shadow effects and finally one on alternative rigging techniques. Do any of you have interest in those topics?

I like. Yes, I like more too.  One bit of advice ( I'm a director, right??)  as a guy, I cannot read and listen at the same time. I know it comes easy for gals, not for me. So when I tried to listen, I missed the font. When I tried to read, the chatter sounded like my ex-wife nagging at me while I was reading the paper.

Hi Vicki,

Nice job. I think you could improve it by including photos or video of actual scrim set-ups. Instead of simply stating that Chameleon is superior to sharkstooth, show us the diffferences! With a couple of good photographs, you are more likely to sway the opinion of anyone who is looking into the use of the product.

I only have a few samples of scrim use in my collection, and none of them using Chameleon. Would love to try to do this sort of comparison under controlled settings!!!

These are with sharkstooth:

This is another example, using a non-conventional fine mesh scrim material:

Here is a shot that shows both the translucency and the solid in the same moment. It was a thin burlap fabric, but it worked beautifully:
