I found an old thread on favorite roles, but thought it might be fun to revisit the topic since that one was several years old.

So, what are your favorite roles or favorite shows for directors? What are your dream roles that you haven't yet had the opportunity to play?

I'll start with my own list.

Favorite Roles:

Mary Matthews - State of the Union

Louise - Guilty Conscience

Andy - Stepping Out

Crystal - The Women

Twink - Christmas Belles

Dream Roles:

M'Lynn - Steel Magnolias

Claire - A Delicate Balance

any role in one of the Farndale plays

any role in Almost Maine (may be getting too old for this one!)

Don - Butterflies Are Free
Andy - Star Spangled Girl
Telephone Repairman - Barefoot in the Park

Favorite Roles (since I got old)
Lear - King Lear
Beverly - August: Osage County
Frank - Over the River and Through the Woods
Andrey Botvinnik - A Walk in the Woods
Teddy - Faith Healer

Dream Roles I'd love to play:
Lear - King Lear (due to insights gained since the first time I did it)
James Tyrone - Long Day's Journey Into Night
Joe Keller - All My Sons
Grandpa - You Can't Take It With You
Arthur Przybyszewski - Superior Donuts

Horton (Seussical)

The Pirate King (Pirates of Penzance)

Will Barfée (25th Annual...Bee) ... also, Panch. Loved this show both times.

Audrey II (Little Shop)

The Baker (Into the Woods)

Tevye (Fiddler on the Roof)
