On the recommendation of the salesman, I bought a Chauvet Obey 70 to control ten Chauvet Colorpallete fixtures.  While it does program the lights easily and effectively, it is lacking one important feature- the ability to fade between scenes rather than to snap between.  I contacted Chauvet, who informed me that NONE of their boards have the feature to fade between scenes... which seems completely ridiculous to me.  Even in the DJ world, you want lights to be static sometimes.

So, I'm a bit stuck.  I purchased the controller and fixtures from my local Guitar Center (the only place around that carries anything like this), and got a killer deal.  Thus, I'd be in the $200-ish range to switch controllers, but it has to be something Guitar Center carries.

Otherwise, if I keep the Obey, I need a CHEAP alternative.  I'm talking zero budget.  I have all the technology available through our school- PC and Mac based laptops, iPads... there must be some way to program scenes (and fades) without a $1000+ lighting board.

Help??
