Hello,

I'm new here...kinda. I have been reading the posts here for about a year and I have found them incredibly helpful and now I finally decided to get an account. I am 16 year old theatre intern and aspiring director in the Boston area. I was asked to direct two shows at my High School this year. I would like one to be a murder mystery. I am really looking for drama and not a comedy. And a play that will really have people on the edge of their seats. I have been looking at "Wait Until Dark", "The Mousetrap", and "And Then There Where None". Please tell me what your experiances where with these shows and what your suggestions where.

Thanks,
Jack

Hi Jack,
Personally I think "Wait Until Dark" is a better choice if you want drama. "The Mousetrap" and "And Then There Were None" are both excellent shows, but are dated, and therefore will be a little more funny then you might want, and probably not on purpose!

Thanks Sam!

Wait Until Dark was my number choice. Besides it would you have any other suggestions?

Also, be sure that if you want to do Christie, make sure you have a cast that can do the accent.  All of them.

I recently saw a Junior College production of ATTWN, and half the cast couldn't.  It was indescribably painful.

Sorry, I'm not big on dramas, Jack. They're just so dramatic!
