Subject: Online Ticket Sales Capability

Hello - I am a college student offering free consulting services to a local community theatre. I have been trying to get in touch with directors and such from national theatres, and no one seems to have the time to respond. I was wondering if anyone could give me statistics about their websites - by how much have you seen sales increase with the capability of purchasing a ticket directly from a website? If you do not offer such capabilities, how have sales increased from simply having an accessible website? How many other sites are you linked to, and how have you built these relationships?

We have been doing only ticket sales for a couple months now. I don't think we have seen much of an increase in ticket sales due to web sales, but we have seen a good percentage of sales move from phone sales to the web. For a small theater this can be a great advantage since you don't have to keep your box office manned for as many hours, and it also improves customer relations. I think the web has had a nice impact on getting out audition information. We have just switched from mailing paper notices to doing notices completly online and via e-mail.
