I am a director for a high school competitive drama team.  Last year we challenged ourselves by performing Eurydice.  We got rave reviews!  I am looking for something for the up-coming year and am having a hard time finding something that I like.  Can you suggest any plays that will really push the kids (and myself)?  I would LOVE any help you can give!

Are you doing one-act or full-length plays?

Either a one-act or a cutting.  Guess that would have been helpful to know~

Okay then -

From my work - check out White Buffalo (Regional runner-up in Texas 5A 2 years ago) - full length show, need to cut it - I know the person who cut it to 40 mins if you're interested.

If you consider Shakespeare to be a challenge, then there is a series of  http://www.lazybeescripts.co.uk/cgi-bin/Search_Results.asp?iAR=4&iAT=38&sTh=Shakespeare - Shakespeare abridgements which condense the original texts to 30- to 50-minute shows , whilst retaining the original language.
