Hey everyone. Looking for some help here, its just really research for the time being.

Doing a production of Back to the 80's in a couple of months, and need to get onto designing and building the scenic stuff.

One of the musical numbers is "Get outta my dreams and into my car" which of course needs a car. Our stage wont allow us to put a stripped out real car onstage, so one needs built from scratch.

I have a few questions:
has anyone doe this show, and what sort of car did you use/ base your construction on?
Can anyone give me any  cars as examples that are nice and angular? curves are difficult to reproduce in the time/budget i have!

Why not do it similar to the car used in the orginal stage show of Grease!
Which was only improvised rostra staging that allowed the punters to use thier imagination & suspend disbelief.
I don't know what your production is about, but you can always tart it up with 80's car bits as props, to assist the cast & all the BOS's to utalise 'n stetch thier susspenders.Embarrassed

Hi Andy, we are doing Back to the '80s in February, 2010.  I am designing the show but the director has not asked me to build a car yet.  Maybe she is going to stage that song without one, I don't know.
