Those of you who have done Willy Wonka and used an inflatable sumo suit to "blow up" Violet - how tough are these suits? Will they take several inflations/deflations?

Hi Mike,
We did not do the sumo suit. I used an inflatable "body bopper" (from Oriental Trading Company) on the actor, and dressed her in a very large blue suit. As Violet sang her song, she waltzed behind a standing gob stopper set during the part where the others sing. When it camestime for Violet to sing again, her body double dressed in the blueberry suit literally bursts out from behind the GSM and finished the song. At the end, she fell over and the Oompas rolled her off stage. If you are interested, I can send you some photos. We now rent out the blueberry costume, along with matching track suits for Violet and Mrs. Beauregard.

Hi back and thanks for the quick reply!

The body bopper thing looks much better & tougher than what our costume people were looking at (we REALLY want to roll Violet out). We'll be inflating with compressed air and a beach ball tip.

Could I get pix of yours - that would be great!

Our School is doing Willy Wonka. Your idea with the body bopper is interesting and might work for us. Would you be able to send pictures?
