i am looking for some of the smaller hand props for BATB, especially the metal "pewter" mugs for the tavern scene, anyone know of a rental place for them? or "cheap" outlet? I know i can search every trift store for 2 months and likely find 25 or so , but I do have other things to do too! thanks for any help you can give on these and other items.

We just did BATB in the fall... we just went to the dollar store, bought those plastic travel mugs & spray painted them silver!

well of course that is an option, thanks, however I guess I am a stickler when it comes to some of the small details, if they were just to be used as set dressing , fine. however our choreography calls for the "clanging" of the mugs, I can't see or hear a plastic mug giving us the proper effect. I know , sometimes you have to settle, but I have found16 so far just another dozen or so to go. they are readily available on ebay too but around $10 each, would rather save that $$$ for some other things on my long wish list!

We also used plastic mugs- but we used the ones that have 'freeze' liquid in them (drained the liquid, of course). The hollow sound that they made when clanged was perfect.

Yes, we used those "plastic freeze mugs" as well. We got two dozen of them at the dollar store and drained the liquid. Then we weathered them with black and silver paint for a good rustic look. Yes, they did not "clank" quite as well as actual tin cups would have, but hey, the 22 piece pit orchestra drowned out all the stage noise anyway!
Here are a couple photos of that scene. You should be able to click on the pictures to zoom in on the cups.
