Yesterday (April 25th 2009) three members of The Town and Gown Players in Athens Ga were brutally shot dead outside of their theatre.
We are asking that any theatre who wishes to show solidarity with our community observe a brief moment of silence this week to remember Marie Bruce, Tom Tanner and Ben Teague.
Ben and Tom were both outstanding techs at Town and Gown. No set in the last 20 years (at least) wasn't lovingly looked over by one of these two men. We are asking that all of our Scene shops also go quiet for two men who inspired countless others (including myself) to explore the wonders and mysteries of tech theatre.

Thank you for posting. I am so horrified by what happened and am thinking of you all in this terrible time. I'm affiliated with the Hart County Community Theatre which is an hour away in Hartwell, Ga and we will do this and if there's anything else we can do, please let us know.
