Hello,

We are a small theatre group in Central Illinois...right between St. Louis MO and Springfield IL.

We are doing You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown and are having some difficulty finding GOOD costumes.  The costumes I believe I will have made by a local seamstress, but I CANNOT find a piano to rent.  All the ones to buy are a little ridiculous for what we will be using it for.  Just wondering if anybody had one for rent or to buy that is not too terribly expensive.

Please let me know if you have any information.

You can also Email me at mailto:emfproductions@gmail.com - emfproductions@gmail.com

Thanks Again!

This should be sooooo simple to build especially if you don't need a working piano.  Ours of course, was NOT real and since I midi'ed the whole show including all the piano stuff that Schroeder does, so the piano itself was super simple to build really.  I used to have plans for one drawn to smaller scale but it could be scaled up proportionally easily if you have someone to build it for you.  Simple construction using the framing of mostly 1 X 2's and then luan to cover the body of the piano.  I have a picture but I'll have to load it someplace so you can access it to see it...very simple to make really.  Belongs to the theater company I used to work for but don't know if they have it anymore.  They might...I can check to see.  They might be inclined to loan it but we're in central KY and you're in central IL - so getting it to you presents issues obviously.  If not, build one easily.  The keyboard part itself was nothing but a piece of white upholstery foam lined off for the white keys with black foam for the black keys.  He could act like he was playing it and depress the foam keys and some people even thought it was a working piano - his panotmime was that good so.....!!!

IF you need plans I can probably redraw it for you.  I'll have to also upload the photo someplace so you can see it.  The whole set and all the pieces were very cartoonish colors and such and looked that way completely throughout.

Let me know.

By the way I just sent you some photos via your above mentioned E-Mail for you to peruse.

We have Shroeder's little piano for rent (as well as ALL the major and most minor props for the entire show), but shipping the piano halfway across the country might get expensive.  Details are at:

Good luck with whatever you end up doing!
