I need some ideas for oompa loompa costumes. I am going with the older movie version. So what I 'm looking for are ideas for the pants and the suspenders. Thanks

We are using white sweatpants (w/o elastic in the bottom), various colors of bright color t-shirts, primary rainbow stripped suspenders and primary rainbow stripped toe socks.

Last spring I made 9 pairs of the white pants for our oompas at a children's theater. We used tie-die shirts and socks and they wore green bob-style wigs. All cast members are aged 7-16. We have all our clothes and props and would be happy to send you pictures if you are interested in renting.

I found white football pants with the laced fly at Big Lots for $3.00 a pair. Then I purchased a bolt of white cotton woven belt material. I sewed the suspenders to the pants. Purchased long sleeve brown t-shirts, on-line from Target. Also ordered green & white soccer socks online.

I have an idea what NOT to do.

I used those painters overalls - they looked really cool with brown turtlenecks and green wigs (from Oriental trading company)-- but they ripped really easily so I had oompa loompas with torn crotches = ewww.
