I have a script that I wrote for our holiday production this year which was based on Virginia O'Halon and the letter she sent to The New York Sun in 1897.   The story is set in contemporary times as well as 1897.  It has original music written to be performed by a children's choir.  The show was very well received.  Every music teacher who saw the show or heard the main song asked permission to use it in their holiday concerts next year.  We even had a first time patron who offered a cash donation on the spot because he said "it was worth so much more than the price of admission."
