We are doing John Jakes' adapation of Charles Dickens  "A Christmas Carol" and I am in need of some sound cues for this show.  Was wondering if anyone could help me out with these or similiar, if you've done this show at all.

My cue list is as follows:

Cue 1: Bell chimes 6 time - 6 note motif for "god bless us ev'ry One" (if possible. I do have the music for this in the script)

Cue 2: distant crash with some ghostly moaning.

Cue 3: Wind with moaning and chains rattling

Cue 4: multiple bells ringing (something that would drive someone to cover their ears type of thing)

Cue 5: Huge Crash (not like car..but furniture, boxes, etc)

Cue 6: shuffling feet, rattling chains..general scarey noises stuff

Cue 7: Clock chime strikes quarter after (ding dong)

Cue 8: Same as cue 7

Cue 9: Same as cue 7 and 8

Cue 10: Bell tolls the hour (1 DONG)

Cue 11: windy, rushing wind noises

Cue 12: Some Christmassy fiddle music about 2 minutes in length

Cue 13: Bell Tolls 2 (Dong Dong)

Cue 14: some type of glittery flourish (like a peter pan or fairy flourish)

Cue 15: Bells chime 5 pm (dong dong dong dong dong)

Cue 16: Glittery flourish again

Cue 17: glittery flourish again

Cue 18: midnight bell tolls slowly (big ben like)

Cue 19: 3 bells chime..small clock (ding ding ding)

Cue 20: Pealing bells...(like just getting married, or just getting out of church type of ringing)

Please let me know.  Thanks

Dan

You should be able to find almost all of these kinds of sound cues online in WAV format or even MP3 electronic files which then you can manipulate with a variety of free software to combine, edit, alter, etc.  Of course, if someone already has them that would most certainly save some time agreed.  But if not, at least there are hundreds of free sound effects sites out there that you can pull from.  HOPE you can find what you need.

I'm doing the Horowitz adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" right now.
Anyone who sees your post and has done this show (or any other that takes a lot of sound cues) and has labored with finding, then editing, sound cues so they fit what is wanted/needed MIGHT look at your list and think "Wow.  I didn't think of just 'asking' someone to give them to me."  I'm almost embarrassed to say this "publicly" but I have about 50 hours of editing time investing in making what I have done so far and I'm not finished yet!
If there were a place where people could "post" (upload) sound cues so they could be traded and/or shared it could be very helpful.  And guess what.  There IS!  It's at  -  www.soundsnap.com   ( and I'm NOT connected to that site in any way)
I can't think of very many sound cues I've ever found-begged-borrowed that were exactly what I was looking for without having to do SOME editing so I'd count on having to do something to just about ANYthing you find.
I WILL offer something else for anyone interested - and - would find it useful if others posted their advice/experience here as well (and isn't that what THIS site is all about anyway).  I use a simple (and CHEAP) sound editing program called Audio Edit Deluxe I downloaded, that does a LOT of what I need.  I THINK you can download a "trial" version.

Anyway - if anyone else could post what you're using (free or cheap) to edit - or - where you find "free" sound cues - that could be helpful to so many of us who've spent so much time looking for those things.

That's my two cents worth (for what it's worth).
