We are doing Willy Wonka Jr. this year - and I know many of you haev done it in the past as well =)
Coudl anyone help me with - what to cover Augustus in when he falls into the chocolate smelting pot.
I would like him to fall in and then come out covered in chocolate (and then freeze).

THANKS =)

Try a dark brown bed sheet like a big chocolate ghost.

hello all,
Yes, I think the sheet is the way to go. But it may need to be a fabric that shimmers when lit up.

That way it will shine to give you the frozen look that you will need too. Sounds like the costume designer has their work cut out!

We just had our Augustus fall through to the pit below the stage. (Stage crew built a platform with lots of foam for him to fall on--Veruca went into the same hole when she was pushed down the bad nut shoot. ) Don't know if your stage can manage that, but it was very funny and surprising to the audience.  Wonka  ad libbed a line when he called the Oompa to take Mrs. Gloop, "Quick, take Mrs. Gloop to the chocolate room before Augustus gets made into fudge."  Oooh, Mrs. Gloop almost faints.
