Hello out there!

I am doing a production of "Oklahoma!" in northern California (bay area) and am looking for a "surrey" for the closing scene. Is there anyone out there who might have one to rent? Other than that, I'm sure that thousands of you have done this show!!! Any suggestions on how to make that last, memorable surprise appearance of the actual "surrey with the fringe on top?"

When we finished up this show we had used a regular garden cart with some alteration including much taller wheels, a front peice, and a 4 poster fringed addition to the top. We used a go-cart motor and the surrey actually moved across the stage. All you need is a fairly sturdy base and some talented crafts people. In your area however, I bet there is one already constructed and ready to rent!

A Go-Kart motor??!! What about the noise, smoke, fumes?? How was this accomplished indoors on a stage?
