Hey everyone,
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if there is a stage version of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen? Or any of Austen's novels for that matter?
It is one of my favorite stories, and since they have done a mini series and a movie, I was thinking they may have created a stage version as well.
Thanks,
Kendra

There is quite a popular adaptation by Jon Jory from Playscripts, Inc. You can go here and read the entire play on-line:

http://www.playscripts.com/play.php3?playid=803 - http://www.playscripts.com/play.php3?playid=803

There are also versions through Samuel French, by Helen Jerome, and Dramatic Publishing (adapted by Jane Kendall.)

I've heard good things about Jory's adaptation, though, and you have the benefit of being able to read it, so I'd suggest going with that first.

Gerald P. Murphy's stage adaptation of http://www.lazybeescripts.co.uk/cgi-bin/Search_Results.asp?iSc=418 - Pride and Prejudice can be read on-line.
In this case, some narration is used to condense the story!

There are 3 different versions. The one that seems to be the best is the adaptation by Jon Jory which is available from Playscripts.
