My actress needs to be 8-9 months pregnant and I don't want to use pillows or foam. Where can I buy (rent) a prosthesis to strap on my actress so she looks 9 months pregnant? Movies use them, but I can't seem to find them on line.

The high schools use something called an empathy belly.  http://www.empathybelly.com/home.html - http://www.empathybelly.com/home.html .  They're expensive, though, to purchase (about $500), but simulate pregnancy.  You might see if you could borrow one from a local school for your production.

We had a similar problem, but we contacted a local maternity store that has the various stages of pregnancy bellies that expectant mothers use to gauge what maternity clothing would look like at that stage.  They were gracious enough to loan one to us.  It simply ties in the back.
Next time you walk threw the mall take a stop into any store that sells these clothes and ask.  Better than having to pay.

I know this is an old thread, but I'll post another easy solution here for future searchers...

Surprisingly, a bicycle helmet sideways is a convincing 8-9 month baby bump. Duct tape it on (tape goes completely around your body, once near the top of helmet, once near the bottom, for a nice snug fit), maternity clothes on top, the preggo waddle, and voila.
