We are getting ready to do "The Big Bang' and one of the props is a silk screen of Andy Warhol's The Lipbalms - I have googled until my fingers are sore trying to find out what the heck this is.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I cannot find a print of anything he did called "The Lipbalm"

HELP!!

I think the main reason you're having trouble finding the print is because Andy Warhol never made one called "The Lipbalms" -- it's a gag prop made up specifically for this play.

Like Warhol's portraits of Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy, he supposedly did a similar study of a couple named Sidney and Sylvia Lipbalm -- a prominent proctologist and his wife -- which hangs on the wall of their apartment.

You can use a portrait of any two people you like and have your prop department rig up the fake. Good luck.

Thanks, Topper, at about 10 last night, the fog suddenly lifted and I realized what the painting was...jez, no wonder I couldn't find it on the Andy Warhol pages.

Guess this is a case of not being able to see the trees for the forest.  Now I just have to find a couple to paint, ala Warhol.

Thanks!
