Last night at our show I thought we blew the speakers - It can on way too loud on the first song (and scared teh bajeebers out of the audience) and then for the first few songs it sounded like we blew the speakers.
So we unhooked all the speakers and just went off one.
At the end of the show we checked the speakers again and they all sounded fine.
What happened?
THANKS =)

Not being a Niose Bloke, only a 'Sparky'. I'd say your preset was in over drive, when the cue was actioned.
 Depending on the gear you use, some amps have a protective mode, when the system is over driven.
I have not witnessed a speaker being blown, except the amps during 'Head Banger' gigs. There are some venues that use an automatic DB circuit breaker, but this is few & far between. This drops out the audio main power & then automaticly, after a preset period, switches it back on. Which can be a problem if the levels on the amps are not turned down in time & the power being reinstated can blow them.
Hopefully it only went in to safe mode & just needed to just have a rest, before being used & abused again?
Pre show sound checks usualy saves experiancing this problem.
