Hey everyone,

My local CT and I will be taking a trip to NYC in early June.  The Tony Awards are on Sunday, June 15.  I thought it would be really fun to have everyone over, share picture, and watch the Tonys.

Does anyone have any really cool decorating ideas for our party?  I was thinking lots of stars.  Silver & Gold.

Also, does anyone know if you can get replica Tony awards, I haven't been able to find any, I've checked Ebay already.

Thanks!
Matt

Tony's, Oscar's, Grammy's etc etc are all trademarked and copyrighted.   Their images are licensed and owned by private organizations.   Finding anything ready-made in a store will be difficult because these organizations employ powerful lawyers simply for the purpose of being quick to pounce on anybody making replicas for commercial use or sale.

Your best bet will be to try to duplicate one yourself in your prop department -- as long as you dare not try to sell it or claim it's authenticity, you should be free from prosecution. Instead of calling it a "Tony Award" it would be better to call it a "Phony Award" and have that printed directly on the prop.

Let’s see:

If the group was make-up and hair-dressers, they could have the “Toni awards.”

Or, if they were from the jockey’s union, they could have the “Ponies Award.”

Or, if they were young professional golfers, they could have the “Sony Award.”

Or, or, wait now, don’t leave, wait! One more.

If they were the chefs and/or caterers, they could have the “Cheese and Macaroni Award.”

Or, or, okay.  Okay.  I quit

Dang, I was just getting ready to kick into high gear.
