Here is an explation of theatre duties, wich may help?
As it from your AACT association it will be more suited to your currency of terms!;-
Theatre jobs & positions;- http://www.aact.org/people/ - http://www.aact.org/people/ To me this the Producers job &/or the com,mitee/Board, who are infact the Producer in our terms, which does not help you!
One of your blokes Henry Winkler, on the Actors Studio, gave a great explanation of the theatre set up.
He descibed the Producer, as the who who finds the location & supplies to set up the sand box.
The director is the one who guides where the the sand to be plaqce in the box, for the actors to play with.
My idea of an Artistic Director, is the one charged with the overseeing the artistic content, of the groups yearly production seasons. To guide, assist & be a conduit foe each individual diector of a seson, within the calander.
But this depends on the logistics & orginisation policy of the individual group & thier wants!

The Artistic Director should be responsible for setting the artistic vision of the theatre and selecting shows and directors which feed into that vision.
They should also probably direct at least a show a year, but that's just my opinion. ------------- I am a leaf on the wind… watch how I soar. |
