Hey! Looking to make someone up to look like a ventriloquist dummy...wondering if there was any way using a prosthetic peice, or just makeup techniques! Thanks.

I can envision a combination of both, by using a partial face mask that would include everything from the forehead to just under the nose, allowing the mouth and jaw to be mobile and easily heard -- the ones in a sort of Italian commedia del arte style.  The costume would also be important -- maybe a bit of a too small blazer with sleeves that are just a bit short to give a kind of wooden, stilted look that the dummies have.
Make any sense?

Yes definitley. This one is going to be hard to pull off. If you have seen Chicago, the movie, they made Rene Z. up to look like a dummy, came out really well, understated, but with that definite stilted look !
