I was just cast as Nathan Detroit in the play Guys and Dolls and I was hoping for some input. I just want to know basics like should I have a heavy New York accent and just how to carry myself. Thank you = ]

This is honestly a question best asked of your director. We all have different things we want to see in a character, but ulimately the choice is the director's.
