I am not sure if this exists, or if we can do this on our current system, but what I am looking for is a sound board which can be controlled via PC.

we currently have a very good sound board (A large Yamaha I do not know the product number off hand), and it serves our needs pretty well, but I would like to be able to make presets of sound localization. For example for one cue having a car pull up that only comes out of the upstage left speaker, and then the next cue of music on the radio coming out of the downstage right speaker. Although our current sound board can do this, it has to be done manually. (and I like to idiot-proof things)

We are currently working on having our light board upgraded to a PC run light board before the new year, and it would make our job easier to integrate the sound at the same time.

Any suggestions would be very helpful

thank you

As far as I know the only maker of such a board is Gamble. However, these are absolutely high end consoles and are often used in rock concert touring (dave matthews used one for a while), so they might be outside of your price range.

I think a better bet is either a digital console (which one is a whole 'nother discussion) or an automated analog console (like Cadac) that can store cues to make your sfx localization easier.

I'll second MikeO's suggestions of SoundCueSystem.  We bought it about a year ago and I love it.  Basically think anything that a computerized light board can do for lighting translated into sound, and you can run it thru a computer simply patched into your current sound board.
