Hey all,

Are there any CTs out there that have a induction ceremony or "oath of office" for new board members or officers?  Does it help people to take their commitment to the CT more seriously?  What does everyone think about this?

If you do have an oath of office, please post it.

thanx,
aaron

We do not have an "oath", but we do have a "board agreement", which at the first meeting of the year, each of the board members receive to sign.  The agreement includes the job description with roles and responsibilties, the board requirements (i.e. must have season ticket, board training attendance, attend at least 8 of 1 board meetings, serve on at least one board committee, and to make a financial contribution to the theatre.

At the second to last meeting of the year, the board members review their agreements to make sure that they fulfilled their obligations for the season.  It is a good way to make sure that that board members know what their responsibilites are, and to remind them that they are an important part of the theatre.
