Hi, I just found this site and its wonderful finding a group of people going through the same stuff as I am. I am costuming my second play for the local HS. Last year was Hello Dolly and I certainaly learnt alot from my mistakes! This year is once Upon a Matress. A much easier show because it is a fantasy, so no worrying about period corectness. Although it does bother me a bit that the costumes range from medival to elizabethian. I do get a stipend for my work but to me it is the opportunity to express my art. I love designing and making the costumes and seeing them come to life! When I arrived at the first rehersal the kids came running to see the drawings and to find out what they will be wearing. I wasn't sure I really wanted to do it again after the headaches of last year but the kids were so excited I felt honored to be asked again. I am glad to find this forum and know if i get "stuck" there are people out there who can help. Thanks
------------- Jill
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
