I am learning so much from everyone here and know that you can help with this next problem.

In the Curious Savage, we need newspapers---not just any, but they have to have to be from three different newspapers (one is the Boston Globe another is the Washington Post and I can't remember the other right now). Getting those papers is okay, but for the play each different paper has to have the right headline and picture to go with the story. How do we do that?

These guys will do a headline and photo for $12.50.  I haven't ordered from them, but they are a real store that has been around a long time:

They don't want to print with a real paper's masthead, but you could just paste the real masthead over what they send you.  (Also, they might make an exception for you if you explain what you're doing.)

We have somebody in our group that is pretty handy at making computer generated headlines, photos and the mastheads (I didn't know that's what you call that!)  Anyway, if you aren't a stickler for accuracy (and it doesn't seem that you'd have to be with the show you're doing) you can probably make one yourself or find somebody in your group that can do it.  Just cut and paste it to one of today's papers.

It can be done the way Kathy suggests, however, the difficulty there is paper size and paper type. The Boston Globe and the Washington Post are both standard size newspapers, meaning the sheet size is about 24x22 inches which cannot be printed on most home printers. In addition, the newsprint type paper is very different from laser or inket paper, a difference both in look and sound when handled that is noticible from stage (yep, that's experience talking; wish I'd known about POB's source 10 years ago!). However, if you can locate a printer with the proper equipment and paper, they would probably be able to do a short run for you, perhaps for an add in your program (approach the printer who does your prorams first). On the other hand, as Kathy points out, you may not need the realism for this particular show.
