If the dates on the discussion board don't look right to you, you can change the format to suit your part of the world.

Click the "Settings" button at the top of the screen
On the next page, click "Edit Profile" at the top of the list to access your user details and preferences
On the next screen, scroll all the way down to "Forum Preferences." The last selection in the list is "Date Format," where you can select your preference for date display from a drop-down box.

Thanks to B-M-D for pointing out that all the dates had defaulted to European style -- I fixed it in my profile but hadn't realized that everybody else had the same problem, because once I changed it for myself, it looked A-OK!
