Hello;

  I am curious to know what the level of interest would be among the various troupes out there for a web based series experience.

  The idea is simply this- you and you troupe come up with a series of your own invention.  What ever topic, what ever genre.  Nothing more than an "R" rating or "M" or what ever ranking system you'd like reference.  Adult themes OK, nothing pornographic.

  Each must be at least 6-10 episodes long to give the audience something to judge by.

  Each series would be produced in what ever fashion you like- Video taping a live theatre production of the series is fine.  A studio video cut with location shots is fine- what ever you like.  Machinima is fine etc etc etc.

  The series are reviewed to make sure there is no pornography etc etc, however you are soley responsible for the format and content of your production.

  We load the series onto the server and each can be downloaded by users at a cost much like the Itunes industry does.  You get a cut.  That exact amount is yet to be determined based on costs of server space, marketing etc etc.

  The better your material(And you get to market it as well.) the more downloads the more money.  A democratic way of deciding what's good and whats not.

  What would you think of a set up like that?

  Joe

Hi Joe:

The interest level at our community theater would probably be zero. We do live theater. We would have to find someone to invest the time and energy to write/generate all the material (you can't videotape productions of most existing plays.) That might cost something. We would have to find someone to shoot/produce the videotape which I suspect would also be difficult to do for free. (We have trouble finding someone to run the light board.)  And the chances of anyone actually seeing the final product much more paying anything for it after all that effort seem pretty slim under your model. I think you might have better luck soliciting improv or sketch comedy groups or film students. Sorry to be a wet blanket! That's just how I see from this end.

Yeah, I really don't see the point....that's what AtomFilms is for....and it's free for the viewer.
