Ok...we've decided to tackle the recent version of "A Christmas Carol" by
Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens, book by the late Mike Ockrent. It was
originally produced at Madison Square Garden Theater in NYC and was
then adapted for televison last November by NBC. It has a great, melodic
score, obviously remnicient of "Beauty and the Beast," and a nice book
that provides some new insights into various characters. My question is,
has
anyone else produced this version of the show yet and what suggestions
can you offer for creating some of the spectacular effects?

Thanks,
Colin

I did it last year. You will have a great time. What a wonderful show to do. Everyone involved loved it. We did have to be fairly creative with the effects because of limited space and budget. What effects were you thinking about? I didn't fly Scrooge and Christmas Present. I had them appear on the roof tops. I did manage a three story house center stage which helped add to the drama.  We used lots of smoke and light effects. I also used lots of masks. The after Halloween sales were a big help. If I had a better idea about what you wanted to know I could be more specific. I could talk about this show for hours.

Oh WOW!  I saw that show on TV and loved it, the whole while wondering if it was as tage play and how great it would be.  (This is the one with Kelsey Grammer, right?)  Anyhow...I'm thrilled to see that it is available.  Cooooollll.
