I'm singing in a Variety/Talent show next week. I told them that I was going to do a Broadway solo song. Any body have ideas on what I could do? I would really like to do something funny. I'm female, senior in HS, but can do just about any woman song, doesn't have to be a teen song. THANKS!

Two of my favorite funny Broadway songs are "You Can Always
Count on Me" from "City of Angels," and "Shy" from "Once Upon
a Mattress."

Now that I think of it - LOL - "Happily Ever After" from "Once
Upon a Mattress" is really funny, too.

Yes - SHY is great.

Also - 'I'm just a girl who can't say no' (or something like that) from Oklahoma

If you want something short, you could do "that'll show him" from funny thing...forum, but i don't know if that's the kind of music you want.

"Everybody's Girl" from "Steel Pier" is also good, and David Friedman's "A
Simple Christmas Wish" is a hilarious, if you can belt and sing soprano.

A good one is Gooch?s Song from ?Mame?

http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/mame/goochssong.htm - http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/mame/goochssong.htm

Similar to how it is staged in the production!

You can start the song sitting behind a desk, on the phone, facing the audiance, holding a singing conversation with Mame Burnside, as the lyrics dictate you stand up & reveal that your very much pregnant, at the appropriate time!

I have used this song to great effect from time to time!

or if you can belt, how about "Can't Get A Man With A Gun"? That's a showstopper if you've got the pipes for it. And the lyrics are cute.

There is a song called "Nobody Does It Like Me" that is very funny, but sorry, I don't know the show it is from or the composer. Can anybody help?

It's most popular version was by Shirley Bassey - but Michele
Lee originally sang it in the play "Seesaw" - which was the
musical version of the two character play "Two for the Seesaw."
"Seesaw" was also the play in which Tommy Tune made his
Broadway debut.

ya gotta love trivia LOL

What about "Just you wait ..." from My Fair Lady? Probably need a Cockney Accent for it though.
