Hi. I've been searching in vain for the licensing agent for MAMMA MIA! Does anyone know who owns the rights? Is it not yet available to perform? I have a feeling it is since I believe I heard of a (non-touring) group putting in on last year.

Mamma Mia is not yet available for amateur or regional professional productions as of yet. I don't think they have negotiated yet for a rights house to handle the show. If they have, it has not been published.

The ?Grand Rights? may or may not become available for amateur performance! This depends upon the rights holder, & how it is handled in different countries.

Invariably in some parts of the globe, the Professional & Amateur rights are handled by separate Agents/Company?s.

A good place to start is with the name of the Producer or production company on the shows marquee. They may point you in the right direction.

However while it may not be available in the USA it could be in Canada or Swaziland!

?Les Mis? or ?Rent? has not been release for amateurs in Britain. Yet it is here in Australia. [Les Mis has was released for community theatre, by Cameron Macintosh Productions, some 10 years ago]
