Only 2 weeks to tech week and we discovered a flaw in the script last night.  Two scotch glasses are left on the coffee table at the end of Act 1.  The scene is continuous from Act 1 into Act 2 so the glasses are still there.  But no where in Act 2 are they taken off stage and they CAN'T stay on the coffee table since a large prop has to be placed there mid-Act 2.  There are no scene changes in Act 2.

How forgiving are audiences?  Will the audience notice if we take them off stage during intermission?  Technically they would still be on stage since the scene is continuous.  Or should I find a spot early in Act 2 where one of the actors can 'discreetly' carry them off stage?

Just ask yourself what would someone do in real-life? If the person placing the object has the opportunity then they should move the glasses so they can put the prop on the table, or some else can move them at that moment.. Otherwise have someone else move them as if they where cleaning up. May not be pratcile to move them totally off stage but maybe there is someplace else they can be moved to. Keep the action natural and the audience won't ever know.
