I am looking for the script for "Bye Bye Birdie".  Does anyone have any idea who holds the rights?

It's Tams Widmark. Really a much better show for those of us in community theatre than for high school if you can get teenagers to participate in your production...the people will look more the right age with adults and teens.

Yep! Kathy, the hill Billy?s at TW, hold the rights!

I?m not sure, but I think they have moved into this century now & even have a website!?!?

Sorry to be facetious, but they honestly believe the ?rest of the world?, is just a suburb of New York!

This show, is like doing ?Grease?, it?s generally sold out, before you hold the auditions!

good luck!
I played Albert a number of years ago - and loved it!
I still remember how much fun the "Normal American Boy"
number was to do.
Have a good time!

FYI
well, actually those are two separate companies.
MTI is Music Theatre International
Tams-Witmark Music Library is a different company and
licenses different shows.

I have been famously known in my area for hating this show!  But we are doing it at our theater next year.  I will audition only because I am so addicted to theater, that I need to do it.  :(

The thing about BBB is that it is total sarcasm.  If you can do it this way, it becomes very fun!

I had so much fun creating subplots with body language, the stage manager and I get everyone to start dong it, and the audience loved it.   A gay Mr. Macafee, Mrs. Macafee having an affair, and Conrad being secretly insecure, and hiding behind his hair.
