Is anyone doing fiddler? We have applied for rites (or is it rights) and according to MTI it will sit on their desk until Neiderlander (producer of current Broadway show) will give them an answer.  Four months later, we are still waiting. Auditions were supposed to be tonight, but postponed because of the midwest snow storm. Anyone else had any problems getting rites to plays with MTI or other agencies?

Is it possible to get email notification when a message is posted? I get that with several other forums I am with (idog.com for example).

"Fiddler on the Roof" is currently enjoying a
Broadway revival at the Minskoff Theatre in New York
and is scheduled to tour the country, beginning (I
believe) in Providence, RI in Feb. Typically, when a
production is on Broadway or scheduled to tour
nationally, the rights for local productions are "frozen"
(unavailable) until the end of the run. I'm not exactly
sure of the Theatre Guild's rationale for this, but I
assume it's to comply with a "no compete" clause in
somebody's contract.    Sorry.

Yup - we got the bad news.  No rights because a touring company is coming within 75 miles of our little town so our HS can't do it.  Back up show - Blood Brothers.

I've heard the same thing about OAKLAHOMA! as well.  Someone told me a local high school was scheduled to do the show this spring and that they got word it would not be released.
