Looking for suggestions for plays that center on a late teens girl and early twenties guy. I've got two actors who would be fantastic on-stage together but for some reason haven't worked together yet. The girl could easily play late teens to early twenties, and the guy could play early to late twenties. Prefer a small cast, prefer a non-musical, prefer it to have as few as possible "questionable" themes, etc (in other words, gotta keep it clean!). Something "period" would be nice, but not necessary. I should be able to think of many, but I'm drawing blanks here!! Please feel free to email me privately. lennybw@yahoo.com Thanks in advance

Is Butterflies Are Free too "questionable"? That is the play that I did when I had two young people who I thought would be perfect working together. It was a great venue for them. Did you think about Neil Simon . . .? Barefoot in the Park. Star Spangled Girl. Maybe these are not period enough . . .
Good Luck. |

those are all great suggestions and i love all 3 of those plays, but Butterflies is a bit too "questionable" for the girl (it was actually the first one we discussed--we all love it!!), our theater just did Barefoot 3 years ago (my girl was a bit too young at that point), and the theater shot me down cold when I proposed Star-Spangled Girl a year or so ago...plus, my girl is not quite right for that role. we're having major brainstorming sessions, tho...but keep the suggestions coming!!
