Hi,

Want to buy some gel for gel-less theater. Right now just thinking of 1 red and 1 blue. The first show is indoors, but would like it to translate. My first thought is 02 and 80. Would love to hear any suggestions. Also diffusion (1 if possible).

Thanks.

That is not a lot to go on. We need to know a little more about your setup.

What kind of lights are you using and how many? Where (how) are you mounting these lights? What is the venue like? What is the show?

It is a beautiful spanking new venue. Don't have the inventory yet but has maybe 25-50 leko's, maybe 20 pars (foh) and 3 rows of fresnels on the electrics (maybe 30-60). The show takes place in a living room almost exclusively (comedy).

But as I said am looking to get 1 red and 1 blue. The theater doesn't have any, and this company has a smattering hodgepodge. I'm not buying for this theater.

This 'Lantern table' will give you info on each of  the lamps in the rig, with a guide to the number of gels 'pieces per sheet' [PPS] you can cut from a sheet of Rosco & Lee.
However nearly all the colour gel available comes in a ye olde 'Cinemiod' standard 'Bakers Tray' sheets size of 20" x 24";-

Also a comparator *number/colour between Rosco/Lee;- http://www.northernsound.net/Sales/Filters/filters/rosco/LeeRoscoEquiv.html

Rather than primary red & blue I'd soften the palettte with L132 medium  blue & chuck in some L110 light Amber or rose to flesh it out.
This may help with chioce of colours Lee Filter Guide
