I have to embellish 3 white jumpsuits with "chicken poop", feathers and "blood."
This is what I am thinking - does anyone have any better ideas?
I was thinking of getting some cream and brown fabric puff paint in those little squeezable bottles and squeezing blobs together and then mixing a little and spreading with a tooth pick and use some of the same paint to stick on the feathers and then get a brown red paint and thinning it a little and then using a paint brush dip it in and spatter the "blood" on to the suit.
Does that sound like it might work? I don't even know the play as I haven't seen it yet. I just stepped in on a costuming job that was suddenly vacated and tonight I will actually see the play in question - they only sent me 1 of 8 scripts and the director said I could just watch run through and see what they already have and then I can veto or put my finishing touches on it. He did tell me I had to do these 3 jumpsuits so that is what I have come up with.

For the chicken poop: What about toothpaste, and toothpaste mixed with brown coloring? Not sure if that would read or not. Depends on the size of your house. But worth experimenting with.
For the blood: I have friends that work in haunted houses each year, and they typically will use thinned corn syrup and a bit of red food coloring. |

Thank you for that suggestion. Problem is this is a 14 show run and both toothpaste and cornsyrup are biodegradeable and may not hold out. I figure with fabric paint, it will look basically the same from beginning to end. It is supposed to look like they work in a chicken factory so red blood spattered. I will do some test runs on old sheets first.
