We are doing "A Midsummer Night's Dream" soon. Does anyone have a reference for renting a rather quality donkey's head that one of the characters wears? There are the cartoonish, comical types that can be purchased from costume shops, but we were hoping for something a bit more realistic perhaps.

Johnson,if you are in Brisbane, Australia, I can tell you where you can get one. I made one for a local theatre here, and donated it to them. Pretty sure I could borrow it back.

Yes, I have a picture somewhere. I'll see if I can find the disk and post the image.
It would cost too much to ship, and it probably wouldn'ty survive the trip! I made it from a large block of "cooler" foam.

I am also costuming Midsummer Night's Dream for a children's theatre and was interested in how to construct a donkey's head. Could you send me pics of what you did? Thanks.

I started to look for the photos some time ago, but got sidetracked by other jobs. I know I have them somewhere, but they're on a CD, and I don't always label my CDs! Bad habit. As soon as I find them, I'll post them. Cheers. |
