Can anyone lead me to a website for sound effects and instrumental musical transitions that I can download. Of course, a bonus would be a free downloadable website. But, I might be just plain greedy asking!
I remember coming across a website a while back that had an assortment of music you could use for transitions. In particular, I need a waltz and polka as well as music for the civil war era. Thanks, Kim |

Check out the ASCap Licene info article on the AACT site;-
ASCAP [the American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers
;- as you &/or venue needs to be covered for playing any incidental mechanical [electronic] recorded music played, at or in your show. We only pay here $65/year [AUD] here to be covered - far cheaper than upto a $20 000 fine, for each breach of the Act. Also check to see that your Gymeatre might not already have a blanket Licence coverage, as most entertaiment venues should have. Chookas Kim. |

Civil War music is my specialty (I'm a reenactor who sings). Are you looking for vocals or instrumentals? I usually use CDs to learn my stuff, and I have quite a bit of sheet music - but here's a couple of sites with CW MIDIs: Public Domain Music Sequenced by Benjamin Robert Tubb Poems and Songs of the American Civil War
If you want vocals, give me a holler - I can recommend some excellent CDs, or I can burn one for you. (My voice isn't half-bad., I'm told.)

There's a little bit of diva in all of us. Some just have a larger helping than others.
