I haven't done a lot of acting in the past few years.  I've mainly concentrated on directing, writing & stage managing.

Here in order are my favoirite shows that I'v directed:

1- "Memory Shadows' (written by me)

2- "Slow Down And Look" (written by me)

3- "Here On The Flight Path" - Norm Foster

Will be directing "I Hate Hamlet"- opens in the spring so that will probably move into the number three spot.

Shows I want to direct-

"The Miracle Worker"

"Diary Of Anne Frank"

Well, since I haven't been doing this very long-I'm not sure I can come up with 5 roles that I've loved. Most of my involvement (until recently) has been in some variety of ensemble.

Favorite Roles
1. Alfred in "Sullivan & Gilbert"
2. Father Virgil in "Nuncrackers"
3. Capt. Albert Lennox in "The Secret Garden"

Shows I've done more than once:
Ragtime (ensemble both times...and loved every minute of it!) And I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Favorite roles:

1.  Sylvia in "Sylvia"

2. Ten roles in "The Laramie Project", including Reggie Fluty

3. Maggie in "Dancing at Lughnasa"

4. Jonesy in "How to Succeed in Business..."

5. Ruth Hoch in "Book of Days"

I've only directed one show, and loved it dearly: "The Vagina Monolgues".  We raised over $3,000.00 for a local woman's shelter.

Red Diva would never forgive me if I didn't respond to a topic she started; therefore my favorite roles are:

Juror #3 - Twelve Angry Men

Sheraton Whiteside - The Man Who Came to Dinner

Elwood Dowd - Harvey

Drummond - Inherit the Wind (which I've never had the opportunity to do)

George Hay - Moon Over Buffalo

Only a couple of director favorites:

Wally's Cafe

You Can't Take It With You

No techie favorites.  I'm not a good techie person.

Kudos, by the way, to Playwright.  I like a man who writes his own parts.  I did it once myself.

HeyJuror $3,

I only directed my own plays.  If I were to be in my own play, then I would be playing the female lead.  A lot of her 'inner demons' are loosely based on my life, though the situations she faces are purely fictional. Strangely enough when I started writing the plays (I'm now writing the last scene of play number three) I fully intended for the female character to dominate the story thread in play number one & play number three.  And she did in the first play. And he did in the second play.  But when i wrote the third play, the male character sort of 'took over' the plot line so I wrote it as it came.  It turned out to be a much better play.  I wonder if the fact that my 'muse' is a male character I invented means I need help!!!!

Side bar- If I could play the female character when we do the third play, I would.  Especially to play out the 'steamy' but very tastelful (a lot of double entendre lines) Scrabble scene.  A couple of good fight scenes as well. But my three leads who played in the second play are returning to reprise their roles when we do the third play.

I would have thought the role of ?Margo? in ?Applause? would have been a monty  to be on your list Eve?
